Birth Certificate

There is a lot of speculation as to whether Obama was born in Hawaii and whether or not he is a natural born citizen.

He has released a Certification of Live Birth but anyone can get one of these. They are normally given if you give birth at home or while traveling overseas.

In south Texas illegals have been getting citizenship since forever for their children by claiming that the children were delivered with the assistance of a midwife. And of course for a small fee the “midwife” will attest to almost anything.

What’s really odd about the entire Obama mystery is his refusal to release his actual birth documentation and also his kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

  1. You said: “but anyone can get one of these. They are normally given if you give birth at home or while traveling overseas.”

Answer: But you cannot get a Certification of Live Birth or ANY Hawaii birth document that says on it “born in Hawaii” unless there was proof that the child was born in Hawaii.

Obama’s Certification of live Birth, which is now the official birth certificate of Hawaii and the ONLY one that Hawaii now issues, says on it “born in Hawaii,” and the fact that he was born in Hawaii was confirmed twice by the officials of the Department of Health of Hawaii and once by the governor of Hawaii.

And, there is a witness who recall being told of Obama’s birth in Hawaii in 1961 and writing home about it (about the birth to a woman named Stanley to her father, also named Stanley http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2170432/posts).

And Obama’s Kenyan grandmother NEVER said that he was born in Kenya. In fact, she repeatedly said that Obama was born in Hawaii, and in another interview she said that the first that her family in Kenya heard of the birth was in a letter from Hawaii many months after his birth.

As for the school and college documents, and his passport, no president has shown them either, so why should Obama? He released a statement from his doctor saying that he was in excellent shape. Obama by the way was never a citizen of Indonesia, as the Indonesian embassy will tell anyone who calls.

  2. Your link to freerepublic.com did not work.

I don’t think this controversy will end until he releases his original birth certificate, the one which shows which hospital, which doctor, etc.

  3. There is no controversy. This is a manufactured story by birthers, people who hate Obama enough to lie about the facts. Ann Coluter, Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck do not believe the birthers. Nor does the Wall Street Journal, which said:

“Obama has already provided a legal birth certificate demonstrating that he was born in Hawaii. No one has produced any serious evidence to the contrary. Absent such evidence, it is unreasonable to deny that Obama has met the burden of proof. We know that he was born in Honolulu as surely as we know that Bill Clinton was born in Hope, Ark., or George W. Bush in New Haven, Conn.”

Obama has released the OFFICIAL birth certificate of Hawaii, which is accepted as proof of birth in Hawaii by all the departments of Hawaii (Yes, including DHHL. I checked.), and it is accepted as proof of birth in the USA by the US State Department and the branches of the military.

The official birth certificate is sufficient proof for these departments and the military. And, in addition, we have the statement of the witness who recalls being told of Obama’s birth in 1961. In addition, there is the confirmation by the officials in Hawaii and by the governor of Hawaii, and Obama’s Kenyan grandmother repeatedly saying that Obama was born in Hawaii and saying in a separate interview that the first that her family heard of Obama’s birth was in a letter from Hawaii.

As for the original, Obama cannot release it because Hawaii does not send it out anymore. Obama cannot show what he does not have. Hawaii sent him the short-form Certification, which is what it sends to everyone, and it does not send out the original anymore (http://www.starbulletin.com/columnists/kokualine/20090606_kokua_line.html).

Some say “sure, that is for everyone else. The President could get a copy if he asked.” But actually we do not know that is true. Hawaii might not send him a copy even if the president asked, since it would be unfair to send him one when it doesn’t send one to everyone else. And Obama would not and should not ask for special treatment, meaning that asking for something that is not sent to everyone else would be unfair, and he knows it. So, we are stuck with the OFFICIAL birth certificate of Hawaii. Fortunately, that is more than sufficient with the repeated confirmations of the officials, the witness who recalls being told, the Kenyan grandmother, and of course Obama’s own statement and that of his sister that he was born in Hawaii, and a separate statement by him that his mother did not have a passport in 1961.

  4. There is NO controversy. Obama’s election was confirmed UNANIMOUSLY by the US Congress. Since then, not one member of Congress has called for an investigation of Obama’s plce of birth.

This is a manufactured story by birthers, people who hate Obama enough to lie about the facts. (And, in some cases to forge documents, such as the “Kenyan birth certificates.”) Ann Coluter, Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck do not believe the birthers. Nor does the Wall Street Journal, which said:

  5. I don’t consider myself a “birther” because I believe he was born in Hawaii. My problem is with his secrecy and conflicting stories.

When I got a passport several years ago I had to write to the state in which I was born (Kansas) and get a certified copy of my birth certificate (long form). It was a copy that the hospital submitted at the time of my birth. That’s the one that people want to see.

I’m also curious as to how he managed to travel to Pakistan as a college student when Pakistan was on the don’t travel list by the State Department. And who paid for this vacation? And how was his education financed? By whom?

We know more about Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber than we know about Obama.

  6. He traveled to Pakistan on a US passport, the same US passport that he received when his mother and he went to Indonesia. He never had an Indonesian passport because he was never an Indonesian citizen (as the Indonesian Embassy in Washington is delighted to tell anyone who calls, ask for the press officer.)

He traveled to Pakistan on a US passport because PAKISTAN WAS NOT ON ANY “NO TRAVEL LIST’ IN 1981, nor did it bar US citizens from visiting. The allegation that Pakistan was on a “no travel list” is a lie, just the same kind of a lie as the one that says that the Kenyan grandmother said that he was born in Kenya, when she said repeatedly that he was born in Hawaii and in another interview said that the first that she had heard of the birth was in a letter from Hawaii.

Re Kansas birth certificate. Answer: Kansas sends out copies of the original. Hawaii doesn’t. Hawaii says that it does not send out copies of the original anymore. The solution would be to get Hawaii to change its rules. I’d be happy if they did because the original will say exactly what the officials and the governor and the witness all say: Obama was born in Hawaii.

Re: Who paid for the trip? Probably rich friends at school. Probably the family of the Pakistani students he visited. This is neither illegal nor immoral. I suspect that many presidents have accepted presents when they were students.
